Paul Nicholls - Profile Of A Master Trainer

Paul Nicholls is currently the leading National Hunt trainer in Britain. He trains a number of the best chasers in training including Master Minded, Kauto Star, Denman and Neptune Collonges as well as hurdlers Big Buck's and Celstial Halo. Funily enough i have a resemblance to Paul and a number of times at race tracks i have been asked if i am him or if i am related to him! Sadly, i am not!

During the NH season Paul writes a very informative column in the Racing Post giving news on all his his runners.

Kauto Star has won the Cheltenham Gold cup twice (in 2007 and 2009). In 2008 Paul trained Denman (Owned by Harry Findlay's wife, Margaret and Paul Barber) to beat Kauto Star and Neptune Collonges (another high class Nicholls Chaser) also in the Gold Cup.

Other well known horses that he has trained include, Azertyuiop, Cenkos, Thisthatandtother, Star De Mohaison and Twist Magic.

Paul has been Champion Trainer on 4 occasions: 2005/6, 2006/7, 2007/8 and 2008/9
