The Cricket test Series between South Africa and England starts on Wednesday 16th December 2009. The South Africans, captained by Graham Smith, are one of the world's top rated sides and are favourites to beat Andrew Strauss' England especially after the reirement of Andrew Flintoff.

However, at odds of 3/1 England do represent some value especially as they have Kevin Pietersen and Jonathan Trott (both native South Africans) in the side. These two players will want to perform and show the home side what they have missed out on. Pietersen is back from injury, fresh and just running into form after the warm up matches. Trott, is new to the side, scored a brilliant ton against the Aussies on debut to help win the ashes, and he will want to cement his place for a long time to come.

England have a good, balanced bowling attack which might just edge the South Africans who although they have Dale Steyn might not have the same depth as the Brits. With the Barmy Army behind them England will not lack support.
