Horse Ownership - Horses that i have a syndicate share in
Horse Ownership:
Horse ownership is an expensive business for ordinary folk. However, through racing clubs and syndicates it is possible to have an ownership interest in a horse.
Man Turk Lady:
Every Friday night i drink with some friends in an Irish pub close to where i live. The Guiness is well kept and the Landlord and some of his friends have become friends of ours as we share a common interest in horse racing. The talk for sometime had been about the problems in Ireland and that horses in Ireland were being put down because of the recession. It costs 600 euros for a horse to be put down and some well bred horses apparently were going to waste because owners and trainers had no money to look after them. One of our friends' relations had picked up a horse for small money and it had gone into training. As the drink flowed we talked about buying a cheap, well bred, horse and putting it into training.
You never think that anything will come of these things, but one Friday the word came accross that an unbroken horse was available for purchase. We decided to take the plunge and agreed to put a few hundred quid in each to buy the horse and have it broken in.
We now have a filly broken in and in training with Eric Mcnamara in Ireland. Bred out of Kenturk Girl by Milan we have magnificent filly called Man Turk Lady, who hopefully, will provide us with a lot of enjoyment. Eight owners are very excited!
